It's great that someone actually started a petition to get Daria on DVD. About every six months I walk my little legs off going into every second hand store, music store, video store in Dublin in a vain attempt to find some Daria anything but, alas, no luck -- Caroline

Since I live in Mexico, I watch Daria dubbed into Spanish. It's one of the best dubs made (in fact, I can't stand the original voices) so I'd like to have the entire series and movies in DVD, with this dub as a bonus. -- Alfonso

It should contain all episodes in their original form including the movies. The extras could be a behind the scenes look at the studios with interviews from the cast. Another neat extra could be past look at Daria from her beginning in the Beavis and Butthead. -- roy gato

The DVDs should each include as many episodes as possible (as stated before, probably about half a season to a full season). Each episode should be in the complete original form, including background music, commercial bumpers. -- Candi

Good luck with this initiative! I'm not sure that it will carry much weight with the bean counters, but at least it's doing something. 8-) Here's a suggestion. When drafting, please remember international fans, and press for a region zero (region-free) release. -- Martin

All the shows, both movies, and "interviews" with the characters should be included. -- Liz

"Daria - The Collector's Edition" on DVD should include all 65 "regular" episodes, the SWAK pilot, both movies, and the 2000 MTV special - "Behind the Scenes at Daria". All episodes should include all of the original music, should be uncut... -- Sam

I think that we should also pitch to get MTV to release all the episodes on video, with the original music and alter-egos intact. I understand that videocassettes don't last as long as DVD but not every Daria fan currently owns, or can afford to own, this format. -- Megan

Not only would I like the full collection of shows, seasons 1-5 and both movies, I'd like any extra footage from the Daria marathons that featured dialogue between Jane and Daria before or after commercials. -- Alea

I never heard of "Daria" until early 2000, when my dad got satellite. By then I've missed three great seasons of "Daria" and it would be great if you guys would archive it onto DVDs for other fans to enjoy. -- Carmine

I'd love to see a Daria collector's edition DVD in DTS 5.1 Surround with every episode of season 1 and audio commentary by Tracy Grandstaff and Wendy Hoopes. This is the best show on MTV. Daria needs to be on DVD! -- Gary Eakin

The petition is nice, but contains a LOT of provisions. Shouldn't you stick with something more reasonable? I, personally, would be happy for just the episodes, commercial bumpers, and alter-egos. -- Fong

I support the Daria on DVD idea wholeheartedly (and I haven't even bought a DVD player yet). That said, I think caution needs to be the watchword with regard to possibly asking for too much. The simplest and "cleanest" thing to ask for would probably be the [episodes]. -- Sam

The DVDaria HTML-monkey chimes in here to give his unofficial opinion, which is his alone: I'd be happy with all of the episodes and movies as they first ran, including the original music. But I see no harm in asking MTV for the moon -- the worst they can do is say no. -- Um

I'd much rather see Daria and Trent hook up than see Daria on DVD. Actually, I'd rather see Daria and Trent hook up than anything else... ever. But yeah, the Daria on DVD thing is good, too. -- Holly Zintel

Put closed captioning on all of the video releases as well. I checked and some episodes had CC available when they were broadcast on MTV. Though I'm not deaf myself, why should the hearing impaired be deprived of enjoying this terrific show? -- D.K.L.

How about a box set? I know it's a long shot but that would mean more marketablity since you'd have all the episodes, then each season could have something 'special' like SWAK and 'Is it Fall yet?' Fans buy this stuff, doesn't MTV realize? I mean, if celebrity Death match can have a box set why can't Daria? It's a much more watchable program. Damn I'm going to salivate over this damn idea until something happens! -- Farfalla
