After July 2001
- [update 2001-11-20] Martin J. Pollard of Outpost Daria reports:
I received an e-mail from my friend inside MTV -- "Deep Throat," for those who still remember the "Outpost Daria Non-Foxing" incident -- with more info on the upcoming airing of "Is It College Yet?"
* The uncut version of IICY will premiere on January 21, 2002 at 8:00 P.M. Eastern with only one commercial break. Like IIFY, this will be the only time that the uncut version will air. After that, the edited version with commercials will be the one that's shown (provided MTV deigns to air it again at all, of course).
* A clip show, "Look Back in Annoyance," will air right before the premiere. The show will, of course, be hosted by Daria and Jane.
* There will be episode marathons leading up to the premiere. The staff is trying to get MTV to air *every* episode in sequence, but of course, MTV is resisting. They're also pressing MTV to air more of Season 5, since most of those episode have only been aired one time. There may also be a marathon based on viewer favorites.
* Daria herself will also appear on "Total Request Live" as an audience member the week before the premiere, and will also have a tiny moment on MTV's New Year's Eve show. (Warm up the VCRs!)
Which means: Go buy an ten-hour tape. One won't have time to swap out before the main event. Also, learn from the past Daria marathons -- IICY won't start at anything like 8 p.m. sharp, so be there to push the button.
- [update 2001-11-13] DVDaria surpasses 1,650 signatures. Just more than two more months until "Is it College Yet?", the final Daria movie, is scheduled to air on Jan. 21, 2001 on MTV-USA.
- [update 2001-11-13] Adam Spradlin posts another source for IIFY on DVD to the Paperpusher's site:
I found some stuff on the IIFY DVD release. Of course, this has probably been mentioned already. There is a DVD front cover picture, back cover description, special features list, etc. It says it will be coming out 12/4, but I'm thinking that's a misprint. By the way, what's Sensormatic?
We don't know. But get those pre-orders in! Prove that Daria on DVD will sell! More places to preorder below.
- [update 2001-10-31] Martin Sylvester of The Irony Maiden issues his "Call to Arms" to Daria fandom:
Well, not arms exactly.
The DVDaria campaign continues, of course (kudos to all involved), and we can hope the 1600+ signatures will encourage MTV & Viacom to believe there's a market for Daria DVDs.
But what will grab Viacom's attention better than a Bonfire Night firecracker in a meditation class is cold hard sales.
So, to those of you who are in the privileged position of being able to view Region One DVDs, hear my cry! Get those pre-orders in now, and encourage your fellow fans to do the same. You've got until January 15th to get the money together, and Christmas is coming up, so don't hesitate: pre-order now! If there's enough pre-orders to force a doubling of the initial pressing, you can bet that someone will get the message that Daria DVDs are a money-maker, and our chances of getting the whole series on DVD will improve.
- [update 2001-10-30] Chad Page -- frequenter of IRC channel #Daria+ (simplenet.net) -- breaks this news on The Paperpusher's Site message board:
Amazon.com: Is it Fall Yet? (VHS) 1/15/2002, $12.99 I also found another story off of google saying that it would be released on DVD along with the VHS version. Paramont indeed has the rights now, and originally had IIFY slated for early fall. And Barnes and Noble has the DVD listed!
Which leads Martin J. Pollard of Outpost Daria to discover:
I checked DVDEmpire.com, and it says that the DVD will have these bonus additions:
* The episodes "Fire!" and "Dye! Dye! My Darling"
* The Mystik Spiral video for "Freakin' Friends"
The running time -- 1 hour 15 minutes -- was also stated. This sounds about right for the uncut version.
No other bonuses are mentioned, nor are any further details given beyond the expected release date. Of course, that doesn't mean there won't *be* any additional stuff...
F! and DDMD make sense, as those two could be considered the first two parts of the "Triangle Trilogy" (culminating with IIFY). Throwing ILAP onto the DVD would've been nice, too, as it's the episode where we first got a hint about what would become the Daria/Tom thing, but I'll take what I can get.
- [update 2001-10-29] Daria fandom reels upon hearing that MTV Animation will undergo substantial layoffs, along with much of the channel's other operations. Fan message boards, such as The Paperpusher and Scorched Remnants [caution -- rough language], as well as IRC Channel #Daria+ and unprintable "dot-bomb" rumor mills (f*****company.com), virutally groan under the weight of fact, fiction, rumor and rage. DVDaria deeply regrets that many of those in MTVA who gave us so much pleasure for five years have gotten the sack. Thanks for everything.
- [update 2001-10-20] "Is it College Yet", the second (and final, as far as we know) Daria movie to air Monday, January 21, 2002 on MTV-USA, according to reliable sources.

- [update 2001-09-22] From Outpost Daria: According to a post in the alt.tv.daria Usenet newsgroup, Video Store magazine has announced that the full-length Daria movie "Is It Fall Yet?" will be released on VHS and DVD in early 2002. Suggested retail pricing (in U.S. dollars) is $14.95 for VHS and $19.95 for DVD.

- [www] The Irony Maiden puts DVDaria on its news ticker -- a first for a fan petition. The exact text went like this (courtecy to The Irony Maiden):
