These are the basic rules for the voting in the current episodes forum.
To determine such items as, what would be the "Perfect Season" of Daria, the best episode of each individual season, eventually to what we all think the best episode is in the series' history, as well as those that are generally considered the worst, or the "Cellar" episodes(though most of these are still better than what's mostly on TV these days), I decided to try a survey to see if we could figure this out. With the help of Um, we've started this survey, and a page containing the results of that survey. Which will hopefully determine all of this before the IICY? premiere. Episodes to be voted on will be posted grouped by episode production number, all episodes with the same numbers (e.g. 01) will be voted on. These will usually be posted every 3 days with 1 exception, at Christmas. Schedule down below. If you are undecided between 2 episodes in the same group, go ahead and put them both down, and they will both count. Reasons being that sometimes some episodes are really too close to call, and there aren't that many of us voting in this, the votes will be spread out more. So if you really can't decide between 2 or even 3 in the same group, just label in your post that you can't and all episodes will be counted in the tallys. You can vote on these at any time. If you've missed one at some point, or you've missed them all and want to vote for all episodes covered so far, you may do so until 3 days after the final regular group is posted, the 13's. Make sure to label any you've missed in a seperate post, as going back to the original thread can be time consuming for Um and myself. You can't go ahead and vote for an episode that hasn't been covered yet. You must wait for a group to be covered before you can log a vote. Due to recent comments it's come to my attention that this system isn't perfect, obviously. The 06's were troublesome for most with ILAP and LS, both deserving, only one could make the cut in the voting. So I propose this: 3 days after the 13's are posted, we'll post a special runoff selection, You'll all have the opprotunity to post up to 3 choices for episodes that didn't win any of the regular voting. For any episode that didn't win, but you feel deserves to be considered among the best of the series, you can place your vote for them in this poll, and I'll include the top 2 vote getters into the second round of voting, bringing up the total number of episodes in the second round from the 13 to a total of 15. These "wildcard" episodes will only be considered in the voting for best episode ever, they will not be counted in the perfect season voting, that will be finalized as the 13's are finished. The second round of this will wittle down the remaining episodes to the best of each season. All episodes from each season that qualify, will be put into their own group and voted on by what you think the best of the season is. Examples: (these aren't necessarily my votes, these are used as an example only) S1 winners: 102, 104, 111*The final phase of voting will narrow these down to the number one episode ever of "Daria" The voting will take place as it has been before between the episodes that won in the second round. In the above example the final episodes would be these: 102, 212*, 310, 412, 506 The winner of this group would be considered the #1 Daria episode of all time. The anticipated schedule for the remaining episode groups: 08's- Sat. 12/22Voting closes, and run off vote is held- Thurs. 1/10/02 Run off vote closed- Sat. 1/12/02, midnight. Second round of voting opens- Sun. 1/13/02 Second round of voting closes- Wed. 1/16/02 at midnight. Final voting starts- Thurs. 1/17/02 Final voting closed- Mon. 1/21/02 at 12 noon. Final winner will be announced in this forum and the current episodes forum at approximately 6 pm, 2 hours before the premiere of the final look into Lawndale, IICY? The schedule is a bit rushed as I originally thought there was more time than there actually was before the IICY? premiere, and I'd like to get this settled before the movie, so here we are.
