Abruptly Amy (The Spinoff That... Was)

The Abruptly Amy continuum represents the first time fanfic authors have ever collaborated on such a large scale! We want to know if our efforts were appreciated or not. So please click here and fill out the Feedback Form or click on the author's name to e-mail comments. Merci. ; >

Let me add that the Abruptly Amy continuum is a SEPARATE continuum from The Driven Wild Universe, The Lost Seasons, and Crazy Nutso's series. Therefore, the Amy in this continuum is DIFFERENT from those Amys. Those continuums take Amy seriously. This one does not. The Amys in those continuums will carry on happily, ignorant of this Amy. This continuum takes that which we normally revere in Aunt Amy and twists it horribly. It is not for the faint-hearted. ; >

Abruptly Amy (The Spinoff That Never Was)

My "departure" fanfic, which premiered exactly one year after "Rose-Colored Lenses," is a two-part mockery of Amy Barksdale, complete with a Delayed Reaction Review and screen captures of the Abruptly Amy "pilot" episode.

In Search of Amy, by Kara Wild

The "making of" special which preceded the pilot episode. It looks at how Amy got her own show, problems on the set, and the tensions that brewed between her and the cast of Daria.

Abruptly Amy: "A New Beginning," by Alan Smithee (aka Kara Wild)

The "pilot" episode of the series. After Amy's house blows up under mysterious circumstances, Amy's F.B.I. boss urges her to go into hiding. She decides to go home to Rutherford to live with her crusty mother and her resentful younger sister. From there, things just get wackier... (Read my Author's Notes for reasons behind the insanity.)

Mike Quinn's Delayed Reaction

The famous critic sounds off...

Abruptly Amy: The Series

As the FAQ explains, once "Abruptly Amy (The Spinoff That Never Was)" came out, it captured the imaginations of many. So before you could say "cheese fries," a bunch of us had gotten together to conspire to write the "eight lost episodes" of Abruptly Amy. Each will be presented below, on a (I hope) week-by-week basis.

Episode #1: Corona, Corona by E. Charlton Fuhrmann (aka C.E. Forman)

A mysterious woman from Amy's past repays a visit to Rutherford. What is she after? Will Amy be able to overcome her twit personality and find out... before it's too late?

Episode #2: A.A. A.O.K. by Carrie D. Wildly (aka Kara Wild)

Faced with the possibility that she might lose custody of Andrea, Amy calls upon Helen, lawyer extraordinaire, to save the day. But Rita's recovery from alcoholism could provide the death blow to Amy's chances.

Episode #3: Windy City Walkabout by Sunto Czyra (aka Crazy Nutso)

Episode #4: Raiding the Bar by J. Michaelis Quinn (aka Mike Quinn)

Rita faces her alcoholic demons by taking a job in a sleezy bar. Amy joins her to make sure she stays out of trouble... and fails, naturally. And what's up with Andrea's new friend??

Episode #5: Hot Head, Cold Fetus by Hans Tojki (aka John Takis)

It's the Very Special Abruptly Amy episode with the Very Tasteless Title! Alan Smithee urges that sensitive youths watch with a parent... or without, if the parent doesn't approve of said episode (the show really NEEDS all of the viewers it can get). Andrea's high school tackles the controversial issue of sex education, much to Amy's dismay. Will it be enough to save Andrea when she gets into sexual hot water...?

Episode #6: Disaster Strikes! by Shawn Perry (aka John Berry)

A volcano threatens to destroy Rutherford! Amy must stop it before it's too late... and before the evil Tom Sloan can stop her.

[Mr. Perry apologizes for the brevity of the episode -- he just couldn't stand writing it for another second. Alan Smithee's people have remedied the situation by inserting bits and pieces of scenes from "A.A. A.O.K.," which had to be cut to fit the half hour slot. We're sure the viewer won't notice. Just kidding!]

Episode #7: Double in Paradise by E. Charlton Fuhrmann (aka C.E. Forman)

The FBI sends Amy and Kristovo to the Mediterranean for a rematch with the evil Corona Coronada. There, Kristovo receives a stunning surprise...

Episode #8: A Very Amy Christmas by Carrie D. Wildly (aka Kara Wild)

Amy gets a crash-course in the true meaning of Christmas when she is forced to hunt down a snowman that has been terrorizing Rutherford.

Episode #9: Crouching Lawyer, Hidden Agenda by The Author Formerly Known as OLIM (aka Milo Minderbender)

Amy's Happy Dough turns out to have some very explosive properties, plunging her mother and family into a legal morass. Meanwhile, Amy must defeat the terrorists who would use her dough for evil!
