The Amy News Desk

Rumors!

Rumors! It's all we, the long suffering fans of Abruptly Amy have left! Daria is falling by the wayside; at least those fans know that the last one out can turn off the light. But for fans of Abruptly Amy, there is nothing but legal limbo. There are new episodes finished, but we fans are deprived due to corporate greed, and the incompetence of Alan Smithee productions!

The The Mystical Mystik Spiral Mystery is ready for airing, but legal issues prevent its release. There is some hope on the horizon. Hans Tojki's latest episode is about smart Quinn coming to visit and being Amy's favorite neice, and making Andrea jealous.  It would be very Full House.

Also, soon to be airing in a courtroom near you is Carrie D. Wildly's Dear Amy. This episode is rumored be about Amy writing an advice column the screws up the lives of everyone around town (of course).  In the process, she meets an old flame from high school and considers dating him.

And that's all. Sad, isn't it. Sometimes I wish Alan Smithee productions would give up. Then AA would be over, and we would all be free to go out and shoot ourselves.

But, then again, hope springs eternal...

Trent Lane and Mystik Spiral Held Hostage!

First, the good news! I have been contacted by #1 Amy Fan, who is very close (as close as two human beings can be, if you know what I mean, and I think you do) to E. Charlton Fuhrmann! Episode #110 is ready to air! The episode title is "The Mystical Mystik Spiral
Mystery" and it features Trent, and the other members of  the band!

But in the words of #1 Amy Fan:

Just heard the scoop on A.A. #10.  The title is "The Mystical Mystik Spiral Mystery", and it features a guest appearance by (as the name suggests) Trent and the rest of Mystik Spiral.  But apparently Lifetime has to work out some legal/copyright issues with MTV/Viacom and another animation studio before they are allowed to air it.  So no word yet on the official release date.

RATFARTS! Here we go again! The long suffering fan is once again is left with playing "I Don't" over and over on their VCR to get their Amy fix!

When will the madness end?

Second half of Season 1 on hold!Abruptly Amy under legal attack once again!

OK. I waited. I checked the listings every day for a clue as to when the episode #110 would air on Lifetime! No word in the TV guide, or TV Grid. Nothing on the Lifetime Website. Nothing. Nada! Zip!

Well, long suffering fans. Another blow has been dealt to our beloved show! Alan Smithee productions has been issued a "cease and desist" order from Glenn Eichler and MTV! Seems they are upset over material that was aired in Episode #109 (Crouching Lawyer, Hidden Agenda). During the scenes where Luhrman was describing his fixation with Daria, it seems Alan and company used actual footage from the original Daria series without permission! Luhrman was inserted into these scenes after the fact by computer.

Glenn Eichler was quoted in CARTOON Magazine as follows:

"I have nothing to say! Talk to my lawyers !"

So here we are, with the first season on hold! Alan Smithee has declared that he will fight to have this order overturned. He tried declaring that he got permission during a seance, (as he claimed to to with Jay Ward), but his lawyer reminded him that Glenn is still alive, so this tact was unlikely to work. Alan is now claiming that Glenn and himself probably got drunk at a party, and he got permission there, but neither one of them remember that now.Glenn is reported to have said he wouldn't be caught dead at any place Alan would hang out in.

So the legal battle rages on, and we, the loyal fans, are once again caught in the middle!
