Full Name:
Corona Coronada (like the Mexican beer) Current Age:
30-31 Parents/Siblings: See "Double in
Paradise" Vocation: Evil villainess, member of the
Secret Society First Appearance in Abruptly
Amy: "Corona, Corona" Catchphrase: "Yes
, like the beer!"
To date the only recurring female villain on Abruptly Amy, the
sultry and exotic Corona Coronada has a natural beauty and cunning that
make her more than a match for our hero Amy. Corona made her debut
in an episode named, appropriately, "Corona, Corona", in which she
kidnapped Andrea to get to Amy.
Whether working out of her Ibiza
mansion / dance club ("Double in Paradise") or confronting our heroine on
her home field ("Corona, Corona"), Coronada always seems to be one step
ahead of Amy, and has a way of getting the best of her, be it ridiculing
Amy's plastic surgery, or making fun of her lack of dress. Despite
being unevenly matched, Amy has (so far) always been able to survive an
encounter with Coronada... who survives herself even after spectacular
would-be deaths that leave her in far worse shape than Amy.
In
"Double in Paradise" we learn a shocking secret about her past, but
Coronada's future is uncertain: What is this "Secret Society" she belongs
to, and what are its goals? How does Coronada's assistant Amara,
revealed as a double-agent, factor in? And who is the tall man who
seems to rank above her, identified in the "Double in Paradise" credits
only as "Mordecai"? Rumor has it that Alan and company were planning
to answer these questions and resolve the Corona plotline in the
unfinished Season 2 premiere.
But one thing is for certain: Her
name is exactly like the Mexican beer.
